NDIS Complex Support
Government-funded complex care services are available for people who have complex health issues.
Through the NDIS, these supports are provided by specialised support works nd healthcare professionals with the qualifications and experience required to safely provide high quality care. It can include supports such as:

Accommodation with complex support (SDA)
Some people may need to live in a dwelling that is purpose-build for complex support, so you can be safe and cared for while enjoying independence.
The NDIS provides SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) for eligible participants. This is a type of accommodation built for people who have complex care needs due to extreme functional impairment, and require high levels of support.
SDA homes are designed to provide complex care solutions in a warm and friendly environment that is connected to the community. They can include accessibility features such as:
- Bedrooms with hoists
- High physical supports
- Robust walls and furnishings
- Falls detection technology
- Accessible doorways and benches to accommodate wheelchairs
- Accessible showers
- Extra safety features
- Sensory features
Residents can personalise spaces to their taste, invite friends and family over, and receive support that connects them to the community.

Complex Home Care for elderly people
Seniors who require complex support can move to a residential aged care home, where assistance is available for everyday tasks and clinical needs.
For those who do not want to go to an aged care home but require high level care, a government-subsidised Home Care Package may be an alternative. This enables you to receive complex home care services at home, so you can continue enjoying quality of life with your family or in your local area.
Home Care Packages go from levels 1 to 4, with 4 offering intensive support for people with complex support needs. This includes assistance with a range of tasks, such as:
- Personal care tasks such as getting changed, having a shower
- Help with housework tasks like cooking, cleaning and laundry
- Stoma care, PEG feeding and other daily care needs
- Independent living aids
- Ventilation and other clinical care supports
